As the area has grown, so has the practice. Dr. Carrie Fox joined the practice in 1995 and transitioned to owner in 2002. Dr. Thayer retired in 2004. Dr. Adrian Bergeron was added as a partner in 2008. We have continued with Dr. Thayer’s original goals of exceptional veterinary care in our outstanding new facility that opened in November 2010. We are committed to quality health care for your pet. Our clients return to find compassion, answers, and genuine love for their pets.

State-of-the-art facility:

AAHA is the only organization that accredits animal hospitals throughout the U.S. and Canada and only 3,300 animal hospitals have achieved the high standards required for accreditation. Receiving accreditation means that an animal hospital chooses to be evaluated on 900 standards in the following areas: quality of care, diagnostic and pharmacy, management, medical records, and facility.
Highland Road Animal Hospital has been accredited for almost 30 consecutive years. It is one of 4 veterinary hospitals that are accredited in the Baton Rouge area and it is one of only 900 veterinary hospitals that has been accredited for over 25 years. AAHA accreditation is part of Highland Road Animal Hospital’s commitment to remain on the leading edge of veterinary medicine and to provide the quality and range of services that you and your pet deserve.
