Dr. Adrian Bergeron is a highly passionate veterinarian who considers himself incredibly fortunate to have a career he genuinely loves. His deep-rooted love for animals and the ever-growing excitement for veterinary medicine drive his dedication and commitment to providing exceptional care. Working at Highland Road Animal Hospital fulfills his lifelong dream, as he is a proud native of South Baton Rouge and has always aspired to raise his family in this area.
Dr. Bergeron attended the University of Georgia for his undergrad and graduated from LSU for vet school. He holds a special interest in surgery, internal medicine, and dermatology. However, he approaches every case with enthusiasm, cherishing each opportunity to improve the health and well-being of his four-legged patients. His expertise and compassionate care make him a trusted partner in helping pets lead happy and healthy lives.
When he’s not at the office, Dr. Bergeron finds joy in spending quality time with his loved ones. He treasures moments with his wife, Katey, and their three children. Their family is completed by the presence of their two dogs and two cats.
Dr. Sonia Godail is a dedicated veterinarian who found her calling at Highland Road Animal Hospital. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, she was elated to join the progressive and esteemed team at Highland Road Animal Hospital when invited by Dr. Thayer, the founder.
Dr. Godail’s love for Baton Rouge grew while attending LSU and meeting her husband. They now have a loving family, including two children and two cats.
Helping clients and their pets bring Dr. Godail immense satisfaction. She has fostered strong relationships and feels honored to be the caretaker of many beloved furry family members. Driven by a passion for continuous learning, she actively seeks out new knowledge in veterinary medicine through continuing education. With a special interest in feline medicine and surgery, Dr. Godail is dedicated to providing the best care for her feline patients.
Dr. Jessica O’Neil is a passionate veterinarian who considers herself incredibly fortunate to be part of the veterinary profession and to work at Highland Road Animal Hospital (HRAH). What she loves most about veterinary medicine is its diversity. Dr. O’Neil enjoys all aspects of her job and doesn’t have a specific area of special interest. Every day, she cherishes the opportunity to witness the growth of her patients, from adorable puppies and kittens to thriving adults.
In the spring of 2008, Dr. O’Neil joined the exceptional team at HRAH. Prior to that, she gained valuable experience working at a large practice in the New Orleans area. Dr. O’Neil earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating with the class of 2006. Born and raised in Zachary, Louisiana, she returned to her hometown in the spring of 2011.
At home, Dr. O’Neil shares her life with her husband Gabe, her son Ethan, and their two cats and two dogs. Together, they create a loving and nurturing environment for their four-legged family members.

Dr. William Ryan, a dedicated veterinarian, has always been surrounded by animals. Growing up on a farm in Northeast Arkansas, he developed a deep connection with dogs, cats, horses, and wildlife. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Arkansas, Dr. Ryan pursued his passion for veterinary medicine at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine.
During his time at LSU, Dr. Ryan sought to merge the principles of engineering design with the science of veterinary medicine. His outstanding dedication and achievements earned him several accolades, including being named Student of the Year in 2015 and 2016. In 2017, he successfully graduated and embarked on a one-year internship at the prestigious Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego, California. Dr. Ryan was honored as Chief Intern and gained extensive experience in handling a wide range of emergency, surgical, and medical cases.
Following his internship, Dr. Ryan returned to Baton Rouge and worked as an emergency veterinarian before joining the team at Highland Road Animal Hospital. With a strong commitment to providing high-quality care, Dr. Ryan is eager to collaborate with you in ensuring that your beloved furry companion enjoys a life of optimal well-being.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Dr. Ryan maintains a well-rounded lifestyle. He finds joy in running, playing classical piano, and cherishing precious moments with his wife and daughter. Among his loved ones is Party, his scruffy orange dog, who brings endless happiness to their lives.
Dr. Katelyn Frischhertz is a passionate veterinarian with a lifelong love for animals. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from LSU in 2017 and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. In 2023, she received certification in Veterinary Acupuncture from Chi University in Florida.
Dr. Frischhertz started her journey at Highland Road Animal Hospital as a receptionist and later became a veterinary technician. Now, she is excited to rejoin the team as a Veterinarian. With a focus on integrative medicine, Dr. Frischhertz offers a holistic approach to animal care.
Outside of work, Dr. Frischhertz enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and their six fur children. She finds relaxation in reading books while accompanied by her feline companions.
